Values

The Arts & Culture Colwood Society engages with artists and the public, fostering creative expression that inspires a vibrant and inclusive community. We take pride in cultivating an environment where all forms of creativity are welcomed and celebrated, and connections are made.

Mission

Our mission is to connect the Colwood community and beyond by offering diverse cultural and artistic opportunities and experiences. At the Goldfinch Arts Centre and through our satellite projects, we embrace creative expression, including performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, and fine crafts.

The Arts & Culture Colwood Society is a vibrant community arts organization that passionately enhances its mission by:

  • Collaborating with the City of Colwood, Westshore Parks & Recreation Society, Community Schools, and the public to develop art exhibits, art programming, poetry stations, and cultural events and activities;

  • Generating interest and engagement in cultural and arts activities;

  • Sharing, teaching, and supporting residents in the Colwood communities and beyond through artistic and cultural endeavours;

  • Including Indigenous Arts Practices and providing opportunities for showcasing them; and

  • Managing the Goldfinch Arts Centre with utmost respect, warmth, transparency, and accountability, we ensure it remains a hub of artistic and cultural activities.
