Music in the Park
MAY 24 / JUNE 14 / JULY 12, 2025
The City of Colwood will be offering 3 of the Music in the Park events at the Goldfinch Gallery.
They are: May 24, June 14 and July 12 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The balcony of Goldfinch will be the stage for these free fun outdoor events. The gallery and gift shop will be open 4 - 8.
Please bring a lawn chair and enjoy!

Soulscapes Fine Art Show
MAY 29 - JUNE 22, 2025
Step into a world of grace, strength and beauty with Soulscapes - a group exhibition featuring four portrait artists, each offering a unique style and perspective. Cathy Key, Bill Porter, Ainsley Guzmán and Ken Miner will be sharing their mystical works.
Opening Reception, Friday May 30, 6-9 p.m.
Celebrate opening night with us and be among the first to experience this moving collection. There will be music, refreshments and time to connect with the artists and fellow art lovers.
Show Runs May 29 to June 22nd, 2025.

Judge A Book By Its Cover
JUNE 26 - JULY 20, 2025
Reimagine your favorite book in your own style for our upcoming non-juried member’s show. Your work can be in any medium, including 3D, that can be photographed as a book cover.
Art Call will be available for submissions May 28 to June 10, and we will take the first 60 pieces or so.
The show will run from June 26 to July 20. The Opening will be on Sunday June 29, 1-3pm.
The Write Night for a Reading: Catherine Lang
FRIDAY JULY 11, 2025 6:30-8:00pm
The Literature committee has sprung to action with chair and past VP, Christine Millar Chase, and two Board Members, Jill Romanchuk and Gina Mar. Expect to see more exciting events from this group.
Catherine Lang, a dedicated community newspaper reporter and freelance journalist in the 1980s and ‘90s, channels her experiences into her latest memoir, shedding light on the profound impact of war on her family.
The Write Night for a Reading: William Porter
FRIDAY JULY 18, 2025 6:30-8:00pm
William Porter is a retired entrepreneur and business consultant with expertise in funding and marketing for bio-medicine, aerospace, and film. He is also a lecturer, fine artist, and a memoir author.
His memoir, Lost & Found, tells the story of his quixotic journey in the art world. It’s a nail-biter, so hold onto your hat!
JDF ART SPACE
ONGOING 2025
Our JDF (Juan deFuca Art Space) showcases many of our member Artists art work. This continuous Art Show is featured courtesy of West Shore Parks & Recreation near the Main entrance of the Recreation Facility.
All art work is available for sale by contacting the artist. On a quarterly basis the show is re created with new artists work and continuing artists with new work.
We hope you will come and see the beautiful art in this space!
Poetry Station
Our “Poetry Station” features our local Royal Bay High School students’ poetry rotating on a quarterly basis. Persons visiting the Station can also hear the poems read to them using a QR Code system.
We thank the City of Colwood for the Create Places grant to make this possible and we also thank Royal Bay High School English Department for the value they have placed on sharing students poetry with the public.
Plan to stop by the Station and enjoy the colorful poetry!
The location of the Poetry Station placement in Royal Bay is at the intersection of Ryder Hesjedal Road and Murry’s Pond trail system.
